Bio

Joseph Edgar Gant, 87, a retired Blacksmith, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wabash Valley sanitarium, Lafayette, where he had been a patient two days. Prior to that time he had spent six weeks in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette. He had been in ill health for two years. Born near Colfax, he spent all his life in the Stockwell Community. In 1896 he married Winnas Hamilton at Lafayette. She died in 1938. He was a member of the old Stockwell Christian church.
