Born in Slušovice (Zlín district, Zlín region) in Moravia, in what is now the Czech Republic. Married Jan (John) Dvorak in Slušovice on 3 Feb 1875. Five children of this union are known: (eldest thru youngest) Edward, Marie, Aloisie, Frantiska and Karel. She came to the U.S. in June 1905 via Galveston, TX, with her three youngest children: Aloisie (Louise), Frantiska (Frances) and Karel (Charles), who became a priest. Eldest son Edward married Augustina Drabek in Moravia and came to the US in July 1906. Eldest daughter Marie married Vincenc Smid in Moravia. They had at least 3 children, two of whom came to the U.S.: Emil Smid and Charles Smid (who also became a priest). Aloysia was living with her son, Rev. Charles J. Dvorak (a Catholic priest) in Littlefield, TX when she died. She was buried in the Sacred Heart cemetery there, and a monument was erected. Because much of her family lived in the Ennis, TX area, a memorial (cenotaph) for her was included on the headstone of her daughter, Aloisie (Dvorak) Horak. Cenotaph here
