Father of William H., Jr, Norval Eugene, Paul Edward, Walter O., Mary Ellen , Alfred W. Stepfather of William Bellinger, George Bellinger, John Bellinger, Anna Mae Bellinger. He was a WWI veteran. He married Mary Gertrude (Barnes) Bellinger. ________________________________________________________________ William Henry Long Sr., 83, Olney, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Richland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers Funeral Home with the Rev. R. E. Dowden officiating. Interment will be with military honors rendered by the Olney Veterans organizations in Maple Dale Cemetery. Visitation hours will be at the funeral home. Mr. Long was a native of Kansas and was born at McCracken, son of William Long and Ella M. Bealer Long. He was married to Mary Gertrude Barnes Bellinger on Aug. 12, 1926 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 1950. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the United States Army from Dec. 5, 1917 to Feb. 2, 1919. He had been employed at Hammond, Ind. for many years as a steel worker and had previously been an employee of the International Shoe Co. in the Olney Plant for about 22 years. He leaves four children: William Henry Long Jr. of Griffith, Ind., Norval Long of Alabama, Walter O. Long of Olney, and Mrs. Danny (Mary Ellen) Harris of Pomona, Cal. He also leaves three step-sons and a step-daughter; George and John Bellinger both of Montezuma, Ind., John Bellinger of Calumet City, and Mrs. Richard (Anna Mae) Harmon of Olney. There are 34 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Albert and Paul, four grandsons; and a brother, Chester Long.
