Julius Franz "Frank" Janis (also spelled Janisch and Janish) was born on 7 July 1857 in Bohemia, Austria. Son of Vincenz "Vinc" Janish and Ludmila (maiden name unknown) Janish both born in Bohemia. Married Francesca "Frances" (Martinak) on the 25 Nov 1884 in Colorado County, Texas. Frances and Frank had 13 children together: 1. Antonia E. "Tony" 2. Mary 3. Eddy 4. Johanna 5. Willie 6. Frances 7. Frank 8. Christine 9. Albina 10. Anna 11. Jim John 12. Emilia Justina 13. Joseph F. They resided in Fayette and Colorado Counties. He is survived by his 12 children and a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife and two children preceded him to the grave. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church at Frelsburg, with a Requiem Mass, Wednesday morning. Burial was in the Frelsburg Catholic Cemetery, Rev. Giesei officiating.
