Bio

Funeral services for Ike Courtney, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenn Freeland of Hilltop Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery. Mr. Courtney died April 13 in Tyler County Hospital. He was born July 10, 1899 in Emory. He was the son of John and Nancy Courtney. Mr. Courtney was reared in the Corrigan area and worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Rockland Baptist Church. He lived in Rockland for 38 years with his niece and nephew, Odessa and the late J. R. Henderson. He had lived in Corrigan since January 1991, with his great-niece and great-nephew, Kathy and Roy Beauchamp. Survivors: 1 sister-in-law, Florence Courtney and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Bryan Henderson, Roy Edward Beauchamp, Tony Beauchamp, Doug Tompkins, Jim Carlton, Patrick Dickens, Elton Wilson and Danny Bridges. Honorary pallbearers ....
