Burial will be in the East Mount Cemetery with nephews of the deceased serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Smith died at 5:20 p.m. Thursday in a Dallas hospital. Born in Ellis County on Oct. 20, 1903, she was the daughter of W.L. and Annie Graham Knowles. She married Alvin Smith in Greenville on May 2, 1948. She was a member of Lamar Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Roy Joe Hill of Grand Prarie (sic) and Robert Gene Hill of Grand Prarie (sic); a daughter, Dorothy Marie Jaynes of Linden; two brothers, Roy Knowles of McKinney and Claude Knowles of Muskogee, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Royce Lawson of McKinney, Mrs. R.R. Reynolds, of Irving, Mrs. Roy Bill of Grand Prarie (sic) and Mrs. C.W. Wisdom of McKinney; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and an infant daughter. Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
