Bio

MORTON - Ellie E. Warton, 101, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Henry Russell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Warton was born in Hill County. She married Fred F. Warton in 1915 at Vernon; he died in 1962. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by a son, John. Survivors include four sons, Bill Warton of Sweetwater, Marvin Warton of Perrysburg, Ohio, David Warton of Holland, Ohio, and Bobby Warton of Morton; two daughters, Ruth Allen of Alamogordo, N.M., and Freda Baldwin of Jamestown, N.Y.; a brother, Fred Weathers of Amarillo; 28 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Morton Manor Nursing Home, 211 W. Garfield, Morton, Texas, 79346. (Published in Amarillo Globe-News, January 5, 1997)
