Last Rites For Fritz Carl Bichel Held Sunday Death Occurred At Home March 20; Was Famous Cattle Raiser Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon for Fritz Carl Bichel, whose death occurred suddenly on Thursday, March 20. Rev. Marx conducted the last rites and burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Bichel was the son of Fred and Louise Bichel and was born at Mineola, Iowa on August 7, 1865, being 76 years old at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Dora Roenfeld March 9, 1886 at Mineola. In the spring of 1896 he moved to Loup City and established the largest cattle ranch in Sherman county. It was here that he raised his very famous herd of Hereford cattle. Mr. Bichel was a cattleman typical of the old western days and will be greatly missed by his associate cattlemen. He is survived by his widow Dora, one son, Henry of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, and seven daughters: Mrs. Lizzie Senff of Litchfield, Mrs. Ella Obermiller, Mrs. Hanna Sheehan, Mrs. Adalia Elrod, Mrs. Alvina Peterson, Mrs. Ray Piper and Mrs. Marie Obermiller, all of Loup City.
