D.T. Jordan Jr. (1923 - 2012) D. T. Jordan Jr., 89, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Restland Coppell Chapel, 400 S. Freeport Pkwy., Coppell. Interment: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. D.T. was born on Feb. 11, 1923, to Dr. Dempsey Truman Jordan and Lillie Nora Bearden Jordan in Goodlett, Hardeman County. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served aboard the USS La Moure County LST-883. Upon leaving the Navy, he began a long career in the construction industry. D.T. was a member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and was awarded a lifetime membership in 1996. D.T. loved and collected antique clocks and watches. He launched a second career of watch making and repair from this hobby. Later in life, he found his passion for ballroom dancing and wood carving. D.T. was a Christian and worshiped in various Baptist churches over the years. Most recently, he was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Survivors: One of 14 children, he is survived by sisters, Faydell Turney and Ruby Rosenthal; his children, Kay Odle, Penny Rose, David Jordan and Jeff Jordan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
