Wilma “Willie” McWhirter, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002. Services were held Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Anderson and Garrett Funeral home, Joelton. Herbert Rains officiated. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Burial was in Anderson Cemetery, Ashland City. She was preceded in death by husband, James McWhirter, one brother, six sisters. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Ann (J.P.) Krantz, Terri (Reuben) Wood; grandchildren, Tania Wood, Jaima Krantz, C.J. Krantz; sisters, Emmogene Butler, Teresa Carney; 26 nieces and nephews; special friend, Jim Templeton; lifelong friends, Ruth Hicks and Joan Collins. She was born March 13, 1937, in Nashville, the daughter of Thomas Malcolm and Lela Francis Johnson Russell. She was in the accounting department of Bill Crook Food Stores and a member of the Whites Creek Church of Christ. Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
