North Carolina Mother: Rachel Ferguson informant: Mrs. Hazel Reeves (wife) William Garland Reeves, 68, well-known attorney and former Beaumont high school principal, died in a hospital here about 3 a.m. Monday after a week's illness. He was a native of Lee, N.C., and lived at 2210 McFaddin street. He came to Beaumont from Ennis in 1902 and was high school principal until 1908. He later was corporation court judge and in recent years had had an active law practice. He was past master of the Masonic lodge here. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Reeves, four sons, the Rev. Garland Reeves of Devers, Pvt Blair Reeves of Camp Howze, R.V. Reeves of Oakgrove, La., and M.B. Reeves of Clyde, N.C.; and one sister, Mary E. Reeves of Asheville, N.C. Services will probably be held Wednesday with burial in Magnolia cemetery in charge of Roberts Undertaking company.
