Bio

Ruby Mecum Ruby Mecum, 90, of North Platte, formerly of Lincoln, passed away April 3, 2012, at Centennial Park Retirement Village. Ruby was born on July 17, 1921, to John and Agnes Veskrna in Ceresco. On April 11, 1944, she married Joe Mecum. To this union three children were born. She enjoyed visiting with the neighbors, tending to her flowers, walking the hills of Lincoln and seeing her kids and grandkids. She had a great sense of humor and was a strong and loving woman. Survivors include Daryld (Linda) Mecum, Grand Junction, Colo., Judy (Doug) Todd and Vicki (Kirk) Nichols, all of North Platte; grandchildren Tammy (Mitch) White, of Sutherland, Trent (Stacey) Hansen, Kim (Hoyt) Williams, of North Platte, Trampus Sheets, JoEllen (Tom) Gracey, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Dana (Jerry) Meyer, of Utah; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Sydney, Jayden, Haidyn, Breydon, Brenner, Braxton, Amber, Brandon, Day-Lah, Kaitlyn, J.R., Jadin; and great great-granddaughter, Alexandra. Also survived by a sister, Thelma of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Wilma and Sylvia. Family memorial services are pending.
