Bio
Donna Boren, 69 of Pierre, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at her home. Services are 10 a.m., today, July 23, at Isburg Funeral Chapel with burial at Riverside Cemetery. Donna Mae Westphal was born on Nov. 26, 1939, in Gettysburg to Benjamin and Edith Westphal. She grew up in the Onida area. She married Robert "Leon" Boren on April 10, 1957, in Onida. The family made their home in Pierre. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and going fishing with Leon. She is survived by two sons, Benjamin Boren and Reed (Gena) Boren; two grandchildren, Breanne and Douglas; and two sisters, Shirley Hiller and Lois Kingsley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; daughter, Crystal Cook; one sister, Inez Kerner, and her parents Benjamin and Edith.
