Edgar J. (Junior) Morgan, 80, of Lovington passed away 5:15 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Visitation will held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington, with Military Rites by the Lovington American Legion Post #429. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice. Junior was born July 2, 1931, the son of Edgar and Ruby Pearl (Davis) Morgan. He married Norma D. Carlyle May 30, 1952 in Bethany. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2009. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Junior retired after forty two years as a mechanic from Bob Peter's Ford in Mattoon and Aschermann Ford in Arthur. He was a member of the Lovington American Legion Post #429, a retired member of the Lovington Fire Department after thirty seven years of service; he was a vivid NASCAR fan and a fan of anybody that drives a ford. He is survived by his son, David Joel (Vicki) Morgan of Oakley; brother Don (Beverly) Morgan of Lovington; grandchildren, Chris (Donyell) Morgan, Joshua (Krista) Morgan, Jarod (Chelsey) Morgan, and John Edgar Morgan. He is also survived by six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Jean Morgan Taylor, and his brother Carroll Dean Morgan.
