Dema Irene Goodell Parberry 1916 - 2000 ❦ Early Life: Dema was born October 13, 1916, in Burwell, Nebraska, to Charles Arthur and Anna Hazel Bales Goodell. ❦ Life's Work | Service | Interests: On September 29, 1940, she married Harold William Parberry Scottsbluff, Nebraska; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They knew each other since they were children. He passed way in 1946. ❦ Following Harold's death, Dema moved her young family to Utah. Working to raise her family, she completed degree in elementary education. In 1954, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She received graduate credits from the University of Utah, Utah State University and Brigham Young University. ❦ As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dema served faithfully in many callings, including Relief Society president. Whether teaching in church, the school system, or tutoring privately, her loving example of humility, tenderness, and commitment is written upon the hearts of her students. A teacher for 30 years, Dema loves children. She could be found encircled by them as she gave instruction, conducted a spectacular experiment, or read a story. ❦ Dema Irene Goodell Parberry died November 23, 2000, in Provo, Utah.
