Bio

Funeral rites are pending for Mrs. Mildred Peel, 51, long time resident of Hutchinson County, who died early this morning at North Plains Hospital. Mrs. Peel lived in Fritch at the time of her death. She was a member of the Fritch Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, David Peel; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Bingham and Mrs Jessie Bergen, both of Midland, and one son, Buford, also of Midland. Other survivors are six sisters, Mrs. Lex Phillips of Liberal, Kansas; Mrs. Frank Deason , Mrs. W.F. Foster and Mrs. Arthur Miller , all of Borger; Mrs. C.D. Granger, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mable Cowan of Amarillo. Four surviving brothers are Evan and Randale Cowan of Fritch and Willie and Hubert Cowan of Amarillo. The body is resting at a local mortuary pending final arrangements. (Published in Borger News Herald, May 13, 1955) --- Final rites for Mrs. Mildred J. Peel of Fritch were read at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church of Fritch. Burial followed at Memorial Park cemetery in Amarillo. Mrs. Peel, 52, died at North Plains Hospital early Friday morning. Officiating at the funeral services was Rev George K. Vaughan, pastor, assisted by Rev. Oran D. Smith.
