Marjorie M. Prochazka, 85, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her home in Hemingford, NE. Marjorie was born at her parent's home by the Niobrara River to Harry William and Helena Susanne "Lena" Annen Delsing on September 6, 1926. Marjorie attended school at the Dawes County Country School, District #4 and St. Agnes Academy. After graduating from the Academy in May 1942, she attended one year at Chadron State College. She taught in rural schools for the next five years until she met and married her beloved husband, Kenneth Prochazka. On April 6, they would have been married for 64 years. Marjorie was very active in the St. Bridget's Catholic Church serving as a lector, Eucharistic minister, Outreach minister, and laundering the altar linens. She was a member of the Alliance Deanery, DCCW, and St Bridget Altar Society, where she served as an officer and group leader. She also served on the rural school board and was a member of the Box Butte election board for many years. Playing games and cards with her family and grandchildren was one of her favorite activities. She also enjoyed quilting, counted cross-stitch, and crossword puzzles. Survivors are: husband, Kenneth Prochazka, children: Janet (Greg) Rosenberger of Council Grove, KS, Tom (Dianne) Prochazka of Hot Springs, SD, Kathy (Darrell) Roberts of Gering, John (Robyn) Prochazka and Rod (Vy) Prochazka of Hemingford, and Tamra (Scott) Mills of Alliance; her grandchildren, Annette (Greg) Holladay, Jeff (Stacy) Rosenberger, Vanessa Miller, Melissa (Mike) Duncan, Matthew (Holly) Prochazka, Chad Hergenrader, Scott (Julie) Hergenrader, Tyler (Dorothy) Prochazka, Lacy Prochazka, Myles Mills, Gary Mills, Jacob Mills and Brettni Mills and fifteen great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Campbell of Hemingford and sister-in-law, Donna Delsing of Lincoln, and a host of relatives and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by: parents, grandson, Todd Prochazka, brothers, Harold and Bill Delsing; sisters, Bernice Wood and Bonnie Prochazka. Burial was in the Hemingford Cemetery, Hemingford, NE.
