After their marriage they took up their home on a farm in Highland, where they lived until 1897, when they purchased their present magnificent farm home two miles south of the village, and where they have since continued to reside. Mrs. Schad was truly a home woman, her love and effection were given to her home and children. A kind neighbor, an indulgent mother and a most helpful wife, devoting her life to those nearest and dearest to her. A woman whom the whole community held in high regard, none knowing her but to admire and respect her. Kind to all, yet it was her special pleasure to lend aid where most needed, and many a neighbor and friend will carry kind remembrance of her for the acts of pure kindness. She was a faithful member of the St. Joachim's catholic church and was a faithful christian woman.
