Nollie Mae (Martinek) Friemel, 87, of La Grange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas. Nollie was born in Ellinger, Texas on March 30, 1924, the daughter of the late Edward and Mollie (Kocian) Martinek. She married Arthur John Friemel on April 18, 1944. Nollie was a homemaker and a beloved mother. She worked as a credit bureau manager and the office manager for the State Farm Insurance Agency, which she and Arthur operated from 1951 until 1977. She was active in Girl Scout and Boy Scout activities, VFW Auxiliary, Sons of Hermann and the Fayette Heritage Museum and Library. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school. Nollie enjoyed genealogical research and had traveled to Czechoslovakia with her son and Albert Blaha and his wife in 1981. There, they did family research and met distant relatives. She enjoyed needle work, reading and being with family and friends. She is survived by two children: Ardie F. Holsinger and husband, Jerry; Russell Friemel and wife, Debbie, all of Fort Worth, TX; two step grandchildren: Lori Wold and husband Brian of Lees Summit, MO; Brian Holsinger and wife, Stephanie of Loveland, CO; five sisters-in-law: Anita Craft of Rogers, TX; Hertha Kruse, Mannie Fritsch-Schmid and husband, Sanford; Eleanora Friemel and Myrtle Friemel all of La Grange, TX; brother-in-law, Frank Friemel and wife, Glenna of Benton, AR; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Arthur. Nollie and Arthur had celebrated 33 years of marriage when he preceded her in death on December 29, 1977.
