Bio

Lillie Cikanek Mahdak, age 92, of Dallas died on Monday, March 19, 2012. She was born December 7, 1919, in Alma, Texas, to Joe and Anna (Barta) Cikanek. She married Gerard Mahdak on January 14, 1940, and they lived in Dallas, Texas. Lillie ran a daycare for many years and developed lasting relationships with those in her care, many of whom stayed close to her until the day she died. She was also a member of her neighborhood Crime Watch and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1967. She is survived by her nieces, Jean Prachyl, Charlene Hill, and Linda Zabojnik, and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church of Ennis. Rosary will be recited before the Mass at 9:15 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
