SHARP SERVICES SET for FRIDAY NEAR DERIDDER (Thursday, April 7, 1960, page - 28) DeRidder - Funeral services for Tom Sharp, 74, of Route 2, DeRidder, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Drake's Fork church with the Rev. Kermit Nelson and Rev. Clarence Dees officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Hixson funeral home in charge. Mr. Sharp died at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He had lived in DeRidder for the last 52 years, and was born in Orange, Texas. Before his retirement he had been a member of the maintenance department of the Santa Fe Railroad. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Sharp of DeRidder; three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Gill and Mrs. Ernest Baker, both of DeRidder, and Mrs. Robert Bailey of Vidor, Texas; three sons, Hubert, Miles and J.W. Sharp, all of DeRidder; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
