Gary A. "Hank" Marek, 62, of Elk, passed away, Monday, March 12, 2012, at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elk, with Monsignor Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elk. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Hank was born in Mart, Texas, to the late John H. and Pat (Hadley) Marek. He graduated from Axtell High School and lived in the Elk area all his life. He joined the U.S. Navy where he was an electrician and scuba diver until his discharge in 1971. Hank worked in the Maintenance Department at Providence Health Care System for over 34 years. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors with his family and friends, and traveling. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Ray Fedro. Survivors include his sons, Don Marek, of College Station, and John Marek and wife, Tricia, of Axtell; daughter, Mandy Marek, of Bellmead; grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob, Allison, Baylie and Braden; brother, Charles Fedro, of Axtell; and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
