Bio

Alvis L. Hunter, Sr., age 89, of Azle, passed away Friday morning February 18, 2011 in Azle. He was born September 20, 1921 in Honey Grove, TX to William Boyd and Dora Bosque (Poe) Hunter. He married Grace Mae Haught in Waxahachie on January 10, 1947. Survivors include three daughters, Premadonna McEldowney and husband Robert of Billings, Montana, Paula Wright and husband James of Azle and Linda Robinson of Mabank; one son, Alvis L. Hunter II.; 53 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three brothers, R.B. Hunter of Lancaster, Calvin Hunter of Springtown and Richard Hunter of Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Grace; daughter Virginia Baker; son Daniel Hunter; sisters Winnie Wharton, Ruth Hunter and Dolly Hunter and brothers Jack Hunter, Marshal Hunter and Bennie Hunter. Interment will follow at Red Oak Cemetery csec
