Frank Fletchall was the youngest child of George Washington Fletchall and Mary Lambert. He was born March 1, 1890 in Rochester, Mo, and died at his home north east of Grant City Oct 14, 1985. Following the death of his mother, in May , 1890, he was cared for by his aunt Barbara Lambert, who later adopted him on April 4, 1891, prior to her marriage to Henry Yokum. He attended Lone Star School for one year, and the Hass School one year. The Yokums moved to Barton County, MO and then later to Johnson County. A few years later, they moved to Allen County, KS, where he attended school and grew to manhood. On March 28, 1916 Frank was united in marriage to Florence Brightly of Iola, KS. He was engaged in farming at that time, Florence passed away in Nov, 1918 after a contracting influenza. The Yokums moved back to Worth County in Jan of 1920. On June 26. 1926, Frank married Clida Agnes Maudlin. They had two sons-Eugene Franklin and Joe Francis. Frank accepted Christ as his personal Savior following a revival meeting at Grand River Chapel in November of 1924 (United Brothern). He became an active member. After the closing of the church, Frank and Clida joined the Middle Fork Methodist Church, Ringgold County, IA. Frank was also active in community affairs and was a highly respected member of the community. Due to his and Clidas hospitality, they maintained a "prophets room", so named by Bishop Eby for visiting officials of the denomination were made welcome. Frank farmed well into his later years, especially enjoying driving his tractor (Always a Ford) to check the cattle and feed his catfish in the farm pond. He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, Two sisters-Mrs. Ida Farrell and Mrs. Bertha Settle, his brother Fred and wife Laura, infant brother Herbert, granddaughter Leah Kathleen Fletchall, two half-brothers, Art and Ray Fletchall, and a half -sister, Grace. He is survived by his wife, Clida, sons Gene and Joe, four grandchildren, sister Agnes Hiner, fourteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Wendesday at 2:00 PM, Prugh-Dunfee Chapel Interment was in the Fletchall Cemetery. Frank was my Uncle and he was a shining example of living your faith. He always spoke softly and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
