Banner Press Newspaper, June 5, 2003: Services for Willie John Manna, 84, of Wallis were held May 23 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with the Rev. Richard Johnston SCI officiating. Burial followed at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Manna died May 20 in Houston. He was born in Sealy, the son of Frank and Martha Dirba Manna. He was raised in the Wallis area and attended Krasna and Wallis schools. Manna was united in marriage with Julie Kulhanek on June 24, 1940, in Fayetteville. He was a farmer all his life, and member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and KJT. Manna was preceded in death by his wife and parents; brother, Joe Manna; and sister, Millie Prnka. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry John and Mary Ann Manna of Rosenberg, and Jerry and Evelyn Manna of Wallis; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Clarence Wesselski of Alvin; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and George Prnka of West; seven grandchildren, David, Nancy, Simon and Angela Manna, Dennis Manna and his wife, Shannon, Mark Weselski and his wife, Melody, and Karen Waller and her husband, Richard; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Manna and Grace Wesselski. Pallbearers were Mark Wesselski, Dennis and Paul Kulhanek, Simon, Dennis and David Manna, and Henry Dirba. Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, Wallis, Directors.
