Funeral Services for Daniel B. Prihoda, 69, of Wallis, Texas, 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, 2610 Demel, Wallis, Texas with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Rosary and Wake Service Wednesday at 7:00 PM, May 25, 2011 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Interment Guardian Angel Mausoleum. Pallbearers are Glen Blahuta, Gene Hruzek, James Vitek, Eugene Mieth, Ronnie Novosad, Jason Roberts, Donald Bartos, Joe Vykukal. Honorary Pallbearers, Taylor Tondre, Shelby Tondre, Dalton Prihoda, Cade Prihoda, Tyler Vasut, Mason Vasut. Daniel was born in Sealy, Texas to parents, Fred and Annie Vitek Prihoda. He was raised in the Ellinger/Frydek communities and graduated from Sealy High School in 1960. He attended Blinn College and Wharton Jr. College. Mr. Prihoda worked in the ceiling tile industry for commercial buildings and also was a rancher. On November 24, 1963, Daniel Prihoda married the former Miss Evelyn Manna in Wallis at Gaurdian Angel Catholic Church. Daniel was active with the CYO Youth organizations, a Member of KJT Society and also served as President, He was a B.I.S.D.School Trustee, served on the Church Council, Austin County Fair Board, a member of the Limousin Assocation and Founder and President of the American Brahmousin Council. He enjoyed showing cattle at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo receiving trophies of Grand and Reserve Champion Show and sold show calf’s to the youth. Daniel enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and deer hunting. In his younger days he enjoyed catching fish in the Brazos River. He served our country in the U.S. Army Reserve. Daniel died Monday, May 23 2011 at his home in Wallis. Survivors: wife, Evelyn Manna Prihoda of Wallis, son, Alan Prihoda and wife Dawn of Sealy, daughters, Sandra Tondre and husband Troy of Sugarland, Joyce Vasut and husband Tracy of East Bernard, Grandchildren, Taylor Tondre, Shelby Tondre, Dalton Prihoda, Cade Prihoda, Tyler Vasut and Mason Vasut, sisters, Bernice Novosad, Sharon Machala and husband Jack, Janice Roberts and husband Jeff all of Sealy, step-brother, Msgr. Alois Pavlicek of Georgetown, step-sisters, Edith Mlcak and husband Dennis of Sealy, Mildred Ondruch and husband Bennie of Sealy and Irene Blahuta and husband Glen of Wallis and several step-nieces and step-nephews. Mr. Prihoda was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Annie Prihoda and brother-in-law, Alois Novosad. Memorials may be made to Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Wallis Fire Dept. or The Leukemia Assn. Knesek Funeral Home in Wallis in charge of arrangements.
