Herald Coaster, May 15, 2003: Funeral services for Edith Ann Kulhanek, 70, of Wallis, were held at 10 a.m. Monday May 12, 2003, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with the Rev. Richard Johnston S.C.J. celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Burial followed at the Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Pallbearers were Dennis Manna, David Manna, Henry Manna, John Dirba, Bill Valicek, and Paul Kulhanek. Honorary pallbearers were Randy McNabb and Edith's grandchildren. Edith was born in Wallis to parents Raymond and Emily (Mikes) Dirba and she died on Friday, May 9, 2003, in Richmond. She was a member of Guardian Angel Church, SPJST, and KJZT where she served as local secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Emily Dirba; husband, Pete Kulhanek; and infant children, John and Veronica. She is survived by her children, Judith Michulka and husband, Stanley, of East Bernard, Dennis Kulhanek and wife, Eugenia, of Wallis, Chris Kulhanek and wife, Brenda, of Sealy, David Kulhanek of Wallis, Patrick Kulhanek of Wallis, Mary Kulhanek of Wallis, and Theresa Kulhanek of Wallis; grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Ashley, and Sarah Kulhanek. Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, 122 North FM 1093, Wallis, Texas 77485. 979-478-6311.
