Bio

Marjorie Weinman Marjorie Weinman, 91, went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2012, at her home in Arnold. Marjorie was born on July 3, 1920, to Fay and Nancy (Johnson) Long at their home south of Arnold. She graduated from Arnold High School in 1938. She attended college in Lincoln at the University of Nebraska and after college she taught school at Prairie View Country School. Marjorie married Paul A. Weinman on May 28, 1943. Five children were born to this union Leon, Glen, Dale, Jim and Jean. Marjorie and her husband farmed south of Arnold and lived on her parents homestead until 1977 when they built and moved into the home in Arnold, where she lived until her death, Marjorie is survived by her four children, Leon (Bonnie) Weinman, Glen (Connie) Weinman, Jim (Nickie) Weinman, all of Arnold, and Jean (Wayne) Thunker, of Paxton; 14 grandchildren, Brad Weinman, of Aberdene, S.D., Clay Weinman, of Arnold, Kyle Weinman, of Aberdene, S.D., Traci (Shawn) Peterson, of North Platte, Dena (Terry) Mills, of Arnold, Darren (Tammy) Weinman, of Arnold, Della (Tom) Grassi, of Nashville, Tenn., Dean (Jacque) Weinman, of Arnold, Cam (Katie) Weinman, of Arnold, Delite Weinman, of Grand Island, Kristi Weinman of Torrington, Wyo., Keri (Jim) Sundburg, of Mendota, Ill., Roy (Mellisa) Watson, of Pinedale, Wyo., and Paul (Kristin) Watson, of Grand Island; four step-grandchildren, Quentin (Jeanene) Lusk, Chad Lusk, Tyann (Kirk) Nansel, all of North Platte, and Nicole (Jeff) Witthuhn, of Callaway; 25 great-grandchildren, Jessica Weinman, Whitney and Alexandra Weinman, Samuel Peterson, Briana (Brian) Dick, April (Andrew) Tickle, Shavonne (Terence) Schacher, Brady and Ashton Weinman, Dana, Tyler and Danielle Grassi, Sierra Monroe, Savanah, Hunter and Hayden Weinman, Delanie Weinman, Karson and Raelynn Sundburg, Sena, Bailey, Cooper, and Tucker Watson, and Grace and Garrett Watson; 10-step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, Tysen and Jaxsen Schacher; two step-great great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ploma (Morris) Geiser, of Kearney; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Irene Bay; her husband; her son, Dale Weinman; a great-grandson, Steven Bradly Weinman. Marjorie was a member of the Arnold Baptist Church, Ruth Circle, Rebekah Lodge, Busy Country Homemakers Extension Club and a leader of the Lincoln County 4-H Club. She enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, crocheting, quilting, going to Lake McConaughy, playing bingo and spending time with family. Marjorie enjoyed holding and caring for her grandbabies. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Whatever she did she did a great job and was a perfectionist. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the First Baptist Church, of Arnold. Burial will be at the Arnold Cemetery. Arnold Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Published in North Platte Telegraph from March 9 to March 10, 2012
