Herald Coaster, July 13, 1998: Funeral services for Lee F. Laskoskie, 90, of Orchard, will be held Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with Rev. Al Walsh celebrating the funeral mass and the rite of committal. Interment will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. The parish rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Knesek & Sons Funeral Home in Wallis. Mr. Laskoskie was born on March 18, 1908 in Anderson to parents, John and Catherine Vechoreck Laskoskie. He was raised in Anderson and attended Shiro Public School. On July 29, 1931, he married the former Matilda Vray in Wallis and was a water driller for Lane Wells in Katy where he retired at the age of 70. Mr. Laskoskie was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. He died at his home in Orchard. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine Laskoskie; sister, Agnes Freudensprung; and brothers, Tony, Julius, and Steve Laskoskie. He is survived by his wife, Matilda Laskoskie of Orchard; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Ed Gaertner of Moulton, Vivian Murry of Houston, Leona and E.J. Maupin of Anderson, and Marilyn and Johnnie Krenek of Sealy; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Pat Laskoskie of Miami, Florida, Lawrence and Pat Laskoskie of Richmond, Jerome Laskoskie of Amarillo, Clarence and Brenda Laskoskie of Scottsdale, Arizona; sisters, Annie Kellner of Orchard and Amelia Koneciezny of Houston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Dorothy Laskoskie, August and Dorothy Laskoskie of Hempstead, Harold and Rosalie Laskoskie of Spring, Louis Laskoskie of Victoria, and Albert and Mary Laskoskie of Silsbee; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for the service will be Michael, Brian, and John Laskoskie, Michael, Andrew, Roger, and Ernest Maupin, Jr., with honorary pallbearers James Janecka, Jeffrey, Greg, and Matthew Krenek, and Seth Laskoskie. Funeral services are under the direction of Knesek & Sons Funeral Home of Wallis.
