Bio

nbsp B. Karon Simmons, 86, of Whitney and formerly of Aquilla, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012. Graveside services will be held at noon, Monday, March 5, 2012, at New Lebanon Cemetery near Aquilla. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, prior to the service at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Bonnie Karon was born in the vanished community of Hickory Flats, Texas, near Aquilla, to the late Charlie F. and Laura Eddie (White) Burleson. She grew up and lived most of her life in the area. On February 24, 1949, she married Mike Simmons. She was a housewife and helped work on the farm with Mike. Karon was a member of Smith Bend Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, on February 28, 2006; a grandson, David Morrow; two brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include her son, Michael Simmons and wife, Shelia, of Aquilla; daughters, Donna Leas and husband, Tim, of Waco, and Rhonda Ince and husband, Jessie, of Whitney; grandchildren: Christopher Simmons, Warren Ince, Robin Harwell, Clay Simmons, Jessica Ince, Joshua Ince, Laura Walker; great-grandchildren: Cole Simmons, Claire Simmons, Addison Harwell, Ava Harwell, Anna Harwell, Cooper Simmons, Will Ince, Kiegan Ince, Phoenix Ponce and Evan Walker; and many other family members and friends.
