Annie Emmaline Earl Gillespie 1882 - 1968 Annie Emmaline Earl Gillespie, 86, Provo, died Monday in a Provo nursing home of causes incident to age. She was born May 24, 1882, in Fairfield, a daughter of Albert and Mary Carson Earl. She married James Wilson Gillespie June 2, 1902, in Provo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Oct. 29, 1953. Mrs. Gillespie received her early education in the Fairchild schools and moved to Provo Bench in 1894 to live with her grandmother, and graduated from high school there. After her marriage she and her husband lived in Edgemont where he [they] owned and operated a fruit farm for many years. Active in the LDS Church, she had served as a teacher in the Primary and Sunday School organizations and had received a pin for being a visiting teacher in the Relief Society for 45 years. She was a member of the DUP and of the Edgemont Literary Club. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1952. Two of her children, Mrs. Emma Jolley and James Albert Gillespie preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Earl W. (Aileen) Frampton of Edgemont; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel in Provo with Bishop Penrod Glazier, Edgemont Fourth LDS Ward, officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday prior to the services.
