Bio

Pfc 36th Div William P. Rutland was the son of Redorick Pierce Rutland Jr and his first wife Frances Flager Swint who died in 1923. Fannie Swint Rutland died when Bill was eight years old. His father's second wife Eunice Lillian Bryan Rutland who married Redorick P Rutland in 1925 raised his three sons. Most of the paper work therefore contain Eunice's name as mother because she raised them after the death of their father.
