Bio

Dorothy Walker Fleagle, 92, of Lubbock passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. She was a resident of Lubbock since 1942. She was born on December 30, 1925 to Earl and Anna Elodie (Byrd) Mc Ginnis in Electra, Texas. On April 18, 1946 she married Fulton E. Walker who preceded her in death in 1992. She married Perry E. Fleagle on May 22, 1993 and moved to Wichita, KS before returning to Lubbock in 2010 where he preceded her in death in 2011. Dorothy was employed as the Assistant Office Manager at Galbraith Steel and Supply for many years. She was a devoted Christian and was an active member of Redbud Baptist Church in Lubbock and also of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas during the time she lived there. Dorothy was a member of the Christian Womenâ€s Clubs in both Lubbock and Wichita. She served as a volunteer at the Ranching Heritage Center and at Covenant Hospital. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Pat Sweatt and her husband Bob of Slaton; three grandchildren, Jenni Myers and her husband, Mark of Keller, TX, Pene Fox and her husband, Ken of Lubbock, and Amanda Whatley and her husband, John of Fayetteville, AR; seven great-grandchildren, Amelia, Bryson, Ellis, Dawson, Cooper, Emery and Coy. She loved her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Fulton Walker and Perry Fleagle; one daughter, Connie Walker and brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 1:00 â€" 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 â€" 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Library of Legacy, Slaton in appreciation of the devoted care Dorothy received while a resident there.
