Joseph Arie was the son of Edward "Ed" Arie and Armenia Chamond Arie of DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. They did live in Bremond, Washington County, Texas, for a period of time, but both died in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. They were married 2 May 1849, in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana.
