John Miles Peck April 14,1849-April 26,1922 John Miles Peck was born in Morrison County, Pennsylvania, April 14, 1849; he died in Glenrock, Wyo., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Orendorf, April 26, 1922 at the age of 73 years. He moved from Pennsylvania to Columbus, Nebr., thence to Chadron, and about 21 years ago came to Wyoming. At the age of 22 he was united in marriage to Mary E. Plummer. To them were born four children, Jennie, who died at the age of seven; Edna, now Mrs. Winklebleck; Sadie, now Mrs. Sharrer; and Myrtle, now Mrs. Orendorf. He was bereft of his companion about 25 years ago. Since that time he had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Orendorf. He had followed farming as his life work and took great interest in gardening here. He and his wife were members of the Methodist church. He had been usually well and strong until taken with cryslpelas (not sure of spelling) about a month ago, from which disease he died. The funeral services were held at the undertaking parlors of Hofmann & Amspoker by Rev. Dulin, at 2:30 Thursday, and the body accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Sharrer, of Chadron, was taken to Chadron and buried beside his wife. The bereaved relatives and friends have the sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow. © Glenrock Gazette, Glenrock, WY, April 27, 1922 (Obituary provided by Betty Alberts, FAG Member #47293729)
