Graveside services for Roy H. Hensley, 65, of Lubbock will be at 3 p.m. Monday at City of Lubbock Cemetery with the Rev. John Donnerberg, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home of Lubbock. He died on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at his residence in Lubbock. He was born Nov. 6, 1934 in Lubbock to Charles Roscoe Hensley and Effie Ann Creach Hensley. He graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech, South Plains College and Texas A&M upon receiving his law enforcement certification. He was a lifetime resident of Lubbock. He married Patricia Ann Howell on Dec. 28, 1957. He was a retired sergeant with the Texas Tech University Police Department. He was a member of the Lions Club, Texas Peace Officer Association and First Church of the Nazarene. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy Brent Hensley of Dallas; a daughter, Cindy Michelle Grypp of Eielson AFB, Alaska; a brother, Charles Roscoe Hensley, Jr.; and two grandchildren.
