Ellen Marie Brandt, 86, of Lexington died Wednesday, Sept. 7, at her home in Lexington.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. The Rev. Todd Karges will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery near Eddyville. Ellen Marie Brandt, 86, of Lexington died Wednesday, Sept. 7, at her home in Lexington. She was born May 26, 1919, at Eddyville to George and Gertrude (Johnson) Brandt. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a long list of friends. Ellen was one of three children and grew up on a farm near Eddyville. Ellen was very proud when she moved to an apartment with some friends. She loved her room and enjoyed decorating it. Home was very important to her and she talked about how she loved her place and the people there. Ellen was a long time employee of South Central Developmental Services. She did a variety of jobs while she worked there and was known for doing a good job at whatever she was asked to do. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister and a brother. Memorials are suggested to South Central Developmental Services or the donor's choice.
