Bio

Herman A. Jung Herman A. Jung, son of August and Emilie Jung, was born four miles north of Loup City, Nebr., Aug. 4, 1876, and departed this life at Loup City Nov. 22. 1946, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 18 days. He grew to manhood on his father's homestead near Loup City. On Feb. 21, 1902, he was united in marriage at Loup City with Bessie E. Rowe. To this union were born one son, R. R. Jung of San Gabriel, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Madolyn Lilley of Loup City and Mrs. Bette Reed of Lincoln, Nebr. He was engaged in farming until 1937 when he, with his family, moved to Kearney, Nebr., where he resided until his passing. For the past four years he has been custodian of the State Recreation Ground at Kearney. He was a faithful and loyal worker in the Baptist church at Loup City, acting as a trustee and deacon. At the time of his passing he was a member of the First Baptist church at Kearney. He was a devoted husband, loving father and kind friend and neighbor. Besides the above mentioned, he leaves to mourn his passing three granddaughters; one great grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Finder, Ravenna, Mrs. Anna Bove, Grand Island, and Mrs. Pauline Hansen, Loup City; one brother, August Jung, Loup City; and many relatives and friends.
