GORUM - At the corner of Eighth and Jackson streets, Alexandria, La., on Monday night, August 22, 1921, John Austin Gorum, Aged 37 years. The deceased was manager of a plantation, near Palmetto, La., and came to this city for medical attention, but survived only a few days after arrival here. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Washington, la., of the Elks Lodge at Opelousas and the Woodman Camp at Lena. He is survived by his wife and three children, one son and two daughters, the oldest of whom is only six years old. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: J. E. Gorum and Mrs. Ella Beebe, of Hutton, La.; W. A. Gorum of Washington, La.; B. N. Gorum of McNary; Dock Gorum of Jena; Mrs. Millie Cleveland of Addis; Mrs. Rosa Elander, of Caryss, La. His body was prepared by Hixson Bros., and interred at [Chopin], La., at 10 o'clock on Wednesday, August 24.
