Services for Pauline Jimison, 92, of Spur, were held Sunday, November 20, 1994 at 3 p.m. in the First Christian Church. Church pastor, Rev. Jack Alexander, officiated. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Mrs. Jimison died November 18, 1994 in Hobbs Health Care Center, in Hobbs, NM. Death was due to natural causes. She was born in Seymour on March 11, 1902 and had lived in Dickens County since 1916. She married Walter R. Jimison December 4,1927 in Spur. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1974. Mrs. Jimison was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church where she served as organist for 60 years. She entered the Eastern Star on February 7, 1924 and was a 70 year member. She was a charter member and lifetime member of the Eastern Star and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Spur VFW. Mrs. Jimison was a sponsor and supporter of many community service activities including the Spur Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star; the VFW, the Dickens County EMS, the Spur Fire Department, the Spur Christian Church, Spur Memorial Cemetery. To attest to her long-time support, she was honored as "Citizen of the Year" in 1983 in public ceremonies at the Spur VFW Hall. Later in the year, she was presented the Spur Fire Department "Silver Spur Award" and by vote of the department, was certified as an honorary fireman. She is survived by three cousins, Jimmie Davis, Hobbs, NM; Jesse Moore, Thalia and Bob Moore, Vernon. Pallbearers included Cotton Barkley, Greg Arnold, Edward Campbell, Mutt Hagins, Charles Sonnamaker, Tommy Latham, Don Williams and Gene Thomason. ©The Texas Spur, November 20, 1994, page 7 from the records of Lillian Grace Nay transcribed by Kay Laster
