Harold August Sands died Jan. 26, 1963, in Correctionville, Iowa. Buried in Danbury Cemetery, Danbury, Iowa. Harold was born Feb. 25, 1908, in Woodbury County, Iowa, the son of Carl Fendinand & Margaret "Maggie" Ann Diment. He married Edna Martha Hannah Heines on Dec. 8, 1930, in Ida Grove, Iowa. They lived in the Anthon - Oto, Iowa areas. They owned and operated a cafe in Oto, Iowa, for several years. Survivors include his beloved wife Edna; a son Leroy & Juanita Sands; five daughter, Deloris & Dean Leesley, Lavaughn & William "Bill" Elliot Adkins, Janice & Newell Jennings Ingram; Marlene & Samuel Joseph Nelligan and Shiriline DeVonne & Jimmy Kelsheimer; grandchildren are, Lucinda "Cindy", Todd Leroy and Michael Brian Sands, Vickie Lynn and Ricky Dean Leesley, Sherry Lynn Adkins, Jewell Jenning Ingram Julie Lynn Ingram, Jason Lee Ingram, Jeffery Allen Ingram, Sarah Jean and Joseph John Nelligan, Debra Sue, Jamie Leroy and Troy Aaron Kelsheimer; two brothers, James & Hannah, and Carl & Doris; sister, Marion Opal & Charles Peter Braun; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Tillie Marie in 1906.
