DeWitt C. Looney, 52, today committed suicide by shooting himself through the head, police reported. Police said Looney who formerly owned the Orange Hotel in Riverside, left two notes to the Long Beach police chief regarding disposition of his property. Corona Daily Independent, April 3, 1940
