Married 2-1-1947 to Oliver N. McCarty Jr. Mary J. McCarty March 15, 1924 - March 2, 2013 Celina Mary J. McCarty, age 88 of Celina, Texas passed away on March 2, 2013 in McKinney, Texas. She was born on March 15, 1924 in Collin County, Texas to Alta Helms and Claude Melton. Mary married O.N. McCarty in Celina, Texas on February 1, 1947. She was a Homemaker and long time member of Cottage Hill Methodist Church in Celina. Mary is survived by her children, Don McCarty and his wife, Janette of McKinney, Texas, Dona McCartney and her husband, Mike of Celina, Texas; six grandchildren, Chad McCarty, Latisha Jones, Shawn McCarty, Jamie McCarty, Crystal Ellis, and Michele Guevara; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Maurine Miller, Daurice Perry, Marjorie Kelly Thresa O'Dell all of Celina, Texas and Barbara George of Frisco, Texas; numerous niece and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, O.N. McCarty, son, David J. McCarty, sister, Nellie Hawn and parents, Alta and Claude Melton. A Visitation will be held at Cottage Hill Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM, prior to the graveside service.
