James Thomas "Buddy" Phillips February 3, 1916 -- June 28, 1999 Graveside services for Mr. Phillips, of Lebanon, will be held 10 AM Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery in Norene with Rev. Billy Trice officiating. Visitation will be from 4-9 PM today at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips, 83, died Monday, June 28, 1999, at University Medical Center. Born February 3, 1916, in Wilson County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Kate Beadle Phillips. He was a retiree of Ross Gear at TRW and a farmer. He was also a volunteer for the Wilson County Civil Defense for many years, a World War II veteran and a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eura Mae Hall Phillips; brother, Claude Phillips; sisters, Janie Jones and Hester Wade. Survivors are his wife, Jean Phillips; son, Jerald (Patsy) Phillips of Lebanon; step-sons, Lynn (Kim) Getsay, Marshall Texas, Tim (Jada) Getsay, Austelle, Georgia, Ricky Getsay, Lebanon; grandchildren, Cindy (Bobby) Lackey, Watertown, Randall (Brett) Phillips, Smyrna, Michael (Tammy) Phillips, Lebanon; step-grandchildren, Ben Getsay, Shelby Getsay, both of Marshall, Texas, Emily Getsay of Austelle; and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Jones, Charles Phillips, Rich Phillips, Randall Hall, Randy Phillips, Michael Phillips and Bobby Lackcey. The Lebanon Democrat, Tuesday, June 29, 1999, page 3
