Bio

On February 15, 2012, Weldon Clarence Poulson – our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and grampy – was finally released from his very valiant 20 year battle with Alzheimer's and was called home to our Heavenly Father. Dad was born June 24, 1928 in Aberdeen to Clarence and Jeneil Jackman Poulson. On November 10, 1948, he married the love of his life, Carol Rae Duffin, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Throughout 63 years of marriage, they made their home in Aberdeen, Fairview, American Falls; eventually settling back in Aberdeen to farm. In winters Dad sometimes worked sorting potatoes at the starch plant, driving a gas truck, and at PFE. After retiring from farming, he greatly enjoyed working at the Aberdeen Experiment Station with Steve Love. Dad was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, willingly serving in many different capacities. He loved the outdoors – especially the mountains, camping, hunting, and fishing when he could, traveling, and new adventures. Dad is survived by our dear mother, Carol; children: Jeneil (Ron) Hooper, Kingman, AZ; Larry, Pocatello, ID; Alan, Syracuse, UT; Sheri (Douglas) DeVore, Los Alamos, NM; Clay, Aberdeen, ID; Jolyn Reed, Pocatello, ID; Deanne (Brian) Hamilton, Salmon, ID; Joy, Aberdeen, ID; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers: Jack (Shirley), Duane (Connie), Douglas, Bryce, Kerry (Lori); sisters: Barbara Daniels, Connie (Leo) Koopmans, Sharon (Dean) Funk, Dessa (Craig) Hardy; aunts: Ruth Echevarria and Vonda Maxwell; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Those who welcomed Dad to his heavenly home include: mother – Jeneil; father – Clarence; mother – Irma; infant sons - Blake and Kevin; infant granddaughter – Britni DeVore; grandson – Brian Meader; grandparents – Alma and Florence Jackman, Anna and Ola Poulson; and many relatives and friends. We are all extremely proud of our loving father. He was a true gentleman – humble, honest, and full of integrity. His sincere caring for others, ready smile, and sense of humor endeared him to those who knew him. We miss you, Daddy. .
