State Pioneer Dies In Tempe TEMPE, June 14—Byron A. Redden, 67 years old, died early this morning, in the family home at 948 Ash avenue. Mr. Redden had suffered from a heart ailment several months. .Coming to Arizona in the early 80s, Mr. Redden was well-known throughout the state as a successful rancher. For 25 years he had served as zanjero for the Tempe Canal Company. Though holding no public office during his lifetime, Mr. Redden was known as a supporter of movements which made for betterment in the community. Mr. Redden was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He also was a member of the First Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida M. Redden; three daughters, Mrs. R. G. Bishop, Tempe, and Mrs. T. Virgil Pyle and Mrs. John J. Barkley, Phoenix; three grandchildren Nadine Bishop, Tommy Pyle and Johnny Barkley, and four brothers Lowell Redden, Temoe, Dr. J. E Redden, Casa Grande, Mark Redden Camino, Calif., and Monroe Reden, Lewiston. Ida. Services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning from the Carr Chapel. with the Rev. Ed G. Decker officiating. Interment will be in (Tempe) Double Butte Cemetery.
