Alvin Francis Spicka was born June 22, 1941, in Wahoo Nebraska to Frank J, and Adeline (Horacek) Spicka. He attended District #34 School in Colfax County and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1959. On July 15, 1967, Alvin married Mary Ann Pacula in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Colon, Nebraska. Alvin was a retired farmer, mechanic, heavy equipment operator and fabricator. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells and the Knights of Columbus. Alvin enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion about farm equipment, especially two cylinder John Deere tractors. He and Mary Ann "loved" going to Polka dances and enjoying Polka Music. His Czech ancestry was important to him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Alvin is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Howells, son: Andrew J. Spicka of Omaha; daughters: Kristin and husband Vernon Dirks of Sioux City, IA, and Stephanie and husband Brent Konvalin of Orangevale, CA; grandchildren: Chelsea, Seth, Hannah, Carson and Hunter; sister Wilma Racek of Lincoln, brother Edwin and wife Dorothy of Geneseo, NY; and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Memorials are suggested to Howells Community Catholic School or Family's Desires.
