Bio
Ruth Ann Clifton, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born in Ammannsville, Texas to William & Charlotte Stavinoha. Ruth graduated from La Grange Highschool and completed business courses at Blinn College. Her working career included Consolidated Ship Building in Orange, TX during WWII in the Production Office Department; the Houston Chronicle; and Pappas Refrigeration where she met her late husband Richard Clifton. Ruth is survived by her children, Jay Clifton & wife Tonda, Judy Doreck, Leslie Clifton, Terry Clifton & wife Sally; granchildren, Jennifer Doreck, Adam Doreck & wife Angela, Jared Doreck, Olivia Clifton, Travis Clifton; brother Joe Stavinoha & wife Lorraine; sister Grace Greenshield; sister-in-law, Alice Smith; brother-in-law, Bobby Clifton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 14th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the chapel of Pat H. Foley & Co. The vigil service will begin at 7:00pm. Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, February 15th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road, Houston 77092. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
