Born to Pleasant Miller Johnson (1823-1904) & Mary Ann "Polly" Young Johnson (1828-1902). Amos married Pharaba "Ferbie" Lewallen (1853-1940) in 1873 in Madison County, Arkansas. Eight known children: • Mary Clara Johnson Greutz (1874-about 1905) • Joel J. Johnson (1875-1949) • Nancy Johnson Stafford (7/27/1879-about 1905) • Charles Erastus Johnson (1881-1978) • Thomas Connor Johnson (1884-1962) • Andrew J. Johnson (1886-1966) • Bedford Marshall Johnson (1887-1970) • Elmer Johnson (1895-1980) Sometime between 1887 and 1895, the family moved from Madison County, Arkansas, to Bell County, Texas. By 1910, only 6 of 9 children were living, per census.
