Published in Kansas City Star, Feb 12, 2012: Mildred Jean (Withers) Keith, 90, Raytown, MO, passed away February 10, 2012. Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Missouri Funeral Care, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, MO. She was born March 29, 1921. Mildred resided in Ruskin Heights for over 50 years until she moved to Bowen Apartments in 2009, where she resided until October 2011. She fell in October 2011 and moved to Hidden Lake Care Center. Mildred accepted Christ and was baptized as a child. She loved her family and loved celebrating special occasions with all of them. Mildred was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She celebrated her 90th birthday last year with a party and open house with her family and friends. Mildred took the last known picture of Patsy Cline on March 3, 1963, at Memorial Hall in Kansas City. That photo now resides in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. She was a proud member of the Always Patsy Cline Fan Organization. Mildred and her friend Carl attended Patsy's birthday celebration each year in Winchester, VA, with Patsy's husband, Charlie Dick, and many others in the Fan Club. She was a dedicated "die-hard" country music fan. Mildred even attended two local country shows on the weekend before her death, with her beloved friend, Carl. Mildred was very well known in country music circles. She had many famous friends among the country music world, and was well loved by many country stars! Mildred was preceded in death by parents, Murrah and Bertha Norton Withers; husband, Donald V. Keith in 1987; infant son, Gary Lee Keith in 1954; daughter, Dianna Kay Williams in 1964; grandson, Bobby Williams in 1966; and great grandson, Ethan Myers in 2009. Survivors include sons and daughters- in-law, Don and Georgetta Keith, Raytown, Rex and Barbara Keith, Kansas City, MO, Mark and Cindy Keith, Grandview, Mo., and Jeff and Gail Keith, Centerview, MO; grandchildren and their spouses, Sheila (Bruce) Nickerson, Claycomo, MO, Dawnie (Randy) Mahurin, Fairland, OK, Jeana (Marion) Ulshafer, Kansas City, Amy (Milton) Siegenthaler, Harrisonville, MO, Glynda (fiance Lee Dobnikar) Milburn, Lee's Summit, MO, Alan (fiance Lois Grimshaw) Keith, Grandview, Beth (Shane) Smalley, Grandview, Stephanie (Steve) Self, Independence, MO, Stephen (Emily) Keith, Raytown, and David Keith, Centerview; great grandchildren and spouses, Veronica Bennett, Jessica Bennett, Matt (Coeta) Simmons, Carley Mahurin, Dustin (Emily) Milburn, Keith Milburn, Angie Ulshafer, Holly Self, Taylor Self, Abby Smalley, Garrett Siegenthaler, Bekah Siegenthaler; and Carl Curtis, North Kansas City, MO, a beloved friend and traveling companion of many years.
